How many photos will you take?
Over 100, and you will get to keep them all, if you like. However, I believe in quality, and if I have to take a larger quantity, before we get a great headshot, I happily will.
How long will you be here?
Three hours, give or take. However, I believe in being relaxed about the time, and I like taking time for a cup of tea!
How many clothing changes will I get to make?
As many as you want to make. Remember, however, your headshots are not about fashion.
What about makeup?
More makeup than you would put on to audition would be a mistake.
How much retouching will you do?
Worry not about that zit that waits to show its ugly head until the morning of your headshots day. We will retouch your three best headshots, not so much that botox comes to mind, but just enough to counteract the ill effects of being photographed, such as the shine on your forehead or nose.
Will my headshots be suitable for Spotlight?
Perfectly suitable. Your headshots will be black-and-white, 10x8, head-and-shoulder shots, as specified by Spotlight.
Will my headshots be suitable for print?
Yes. Your headshots will be supplied as high-resolution digital files, 300 dpi, 10x8 inches.
Will my headshots be small enough to upload?
No. Your headshots will also be supplied as low-resolution digital files. These files will be small enough to upload to Spotlight and Casting Call Pro, though they will still be high-quality and uncompressed.
Is 10x8 the same as 8x10?
Yes. Both 8x10 and 10x8 describe a print of 8 inches in one dimension and 10 in the other. The Americans tend to say 8x10, and the British, in turn, tend to say 10x8.
What if I want a colour headshot?
Black-and-white is still the industry standard, and Spotlight specifies that your principal shot should be black-and-white. However, I prefer to shoot in colour, and convert to black-and-white in Photoshop. So, I supply both black-and-white and colour files.
